Claire Collins—RN, MSN, FNP-BC
Claire is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, with over 12 years experience in internal medicine. Her focus is to practice evidence-based medicine, combined with her clinical experience, to deliver the highest quality care and optimal patient satisfaction.
Claire began her nursing career as a staff nurse at New York University Medical Center, providing post-op care and telemetry monitoring for surgical patients. She became a critical care nurse and then assistant nurse manager of the cardiac care unit at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, assisting in the daily management of a 20-bed unit for critically ill patients.
Upon receiving her nurse practitioner certification, Claire began to practice at an internal medicine office in Suffern, NY, where she managed the health care for adult and geriatric patients. She worked there for over 12 years before joining ColumbiaDoctors in 2015.
Claire has both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in nursing from Dominican College, where she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society of Nursing. She also has a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Manhattan College.
Claire is the coordinator of the Nurse Practitioner Network of Rockland County, an active member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of NYS–Lower Hudson Valley Chapter, a preceptor for family nurse practitioner students, and a consulting nurse practitioner for the South Orangetown Central School District in Blauvelt, NY.
